According to South Korean media reports, Hynix Semiconductor said today that it will establish a joint venture semiconductor post-processing plant with Wuxi Industrial Development Group Co., Ltd. in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China.

        In order to expand capital liquidity and improve its financial structure, Hynix sold its local factories in China and some domestic post-processing plants to the joint venture for US$300 million (about 2.04 billion yuan).

        Hynix Semiconductor plans to expand the proportion of post-processing outsourcing, which currently accounts for about 30%, to 50%, and save more than 2 trillion won (about 10 billion yuan) in investment costs in the next five years, focusing on core departments— - Basic processing and R&D work.

        Hynix Semiconductor, which established a production corporation in China in 2005, established a post-processing plant in Wuxi, and has a complete production line from basic processing to post-processing in China, so it is expected to improve cost competitiveness by saving production and logistics costs.

        Hynix Semiconductor promises to provide post-processing product orders to the joint venture in the next five years. At the same time, it plans to send special personnel to operate equipment and conduct training to improve the competitiveness of the joint venture, so as to develop it into a specialized post-processing plant.

        The development of semiconductor processing plants will also promote the development of the semiconductor market, and the technical content should also be improved.
